The idea for this website began from a single frustration: the Internet is flooded with "reviews" written by individuals who have barely taken a product out of its box or only just registered for a service. They haven't spent nearly enough time with it to know whether or not it is worth any investment. They shill half-truths, speculation, and hallucinations from an AI for personal gain. All while bombarding users with ads when they just want some input about a product or service they've been thinking about.

We wanted to build something different. Tried 'n Trusted Reviews is a grassroots, completely independent platform dedicated to honest, time-tested reviews of products and services.

We don't just look at a product or service; we live with it. All of our reviews are guided by these principles:

  • Real long-term testing: We only review products and services that we have used for at least 6 months. If we haven't experienced a significant amount of time with it, you won't see a review for it here
  • Radical Honesty: We are committed to promoting high-quality products and services. We are equally committed to calling out poor quality products and services. Whether it's poor craftsmanship or terrible service, we'll tell you. We know you work hard for your money, and we believe that every investment should be worth it
  • Privacy and Anonymity: We respect your right to privacy. Our website is custom-built to be tracker-free. No analytics. No account required. All of our reviews are available here completely free and you can read them in complete anonymity
  • Ethics and Environment: We are vegans and environmentalists. We try our best to minimize our impact on the planet. That belief extends to our reviews. We heavily favour sustainability, durability, and repairability in the products and services we use in our home. We wouldn't recommend anything less to you
  • Grassroots and Monetization: We don't believe in non-consensual ads, so you won't even see any unless you stand to benefit as well. We raise money for this website through affiliate marketing or partnerships where there is a clear benefit to everyone involved: You find something great, the provider of that something gets supported, and we here at Tried 'n Trusted Reviews earn a small commission to help keep the website running. All at no extra cost to you

We're just regular consumers who love tech, quality products and services, and ethical living. We only review products and services that we ourselves own or have subscribed to of our own volition. We run this website with transparency and respect for our readers
